Feeding Therapy Fredericksburg & Woodbridge, VA

Feeding Therapy

Individuals may have feeding difficulties because of a number of reasons: sensory (food refusals and picky eating), decreased oral motor tone and control, increased muscle tone, apraxia/dyspraxia, G-tube, acid reflux, and/or physical issues such as cleft lip and palate, high arched palate, and a short frenum

Feeding therapy may involve direct oral-motor intervention to address weak musculature in and around a child’s mouth or it may involve a behavioral feeding plan with no hands-on oral-motor therapy. It may also involve addressing the sensory issues related to feeding. An Occupational, Speech therapist or a Behavior Analyst will be able to assist with these issues. For more information, Contact us at Fredericksburg & Woodbridge, VA centers.
